I was also confused whether to trust this site or not, but the review in the video below helped me to clear my confusions about how can I earn through Preply and how much hours do I have to give etc etc…

Tutor with preply:

Preply is overall a good platform for tutors. The tutoring marketplace is very advantageous for tutors. Tutors do not need to do any marketing for finding students as they can very easily find students on the platform. Tutors just need to register on this marketplace and fill out all the necessary details.

Good and bad side of preply:

There are good & bad sides of teaching on Preply.

I’ve been teaching on Preply for more than 2 yrs now.

Good side:

- I get quite a lot of students fast

- I don’t need to do marketing, Preply does the marketing themselves.

Bad side:

- I can’t increase my rate as customers tend to look for the cheapest rate

- I can’t choose or block the students I don’t like

- We work like a SLAVE on Preply. Meaning.. if a student skips their lesson 

without any prior notice, and we make report about it to preply, they’d suggest us reschedule the lesson. It means we have to waste 2-hour time just to be paid for 1-hour lesson

- If the students don’t confirm the lesson immediately, we’ll have to wait for 3 days and ask preply to confirm it for us.

- If a student books for a 1-hour lesson, but learns only 30 mins or less because the student is late (his OWN fault), sometimes preply will question this and ask us to offer the missing 30 mins for FREE. ARE YOU KDDING ME????

- Many preply’s policy really discredit the teacher but benefit the student.

- I’ve lost 3 students because I charge them for skipping the lesson within less than 4-hour notice before the lesson starts.

- The students can cancel the lesson without having to pay if they cancel the lesson within no less than 4 hrs before the lesson starts. I really hate this. Other platform allows the students to cancel for no payment within no less than 12 hrs b4 the lesson starts
